What is the Difference Between CNG and LNG Cylinders?

Jul. 19, 2021

As a CNG Cylinder Manufacturer, share it with you.

The differences between CNG and LNG cylinders are as follows:

CNG Cylinder

CNG Cylinder

1. LNG is the abbreviation of Liquefied Natural Gas, and its main component is methane. Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is compressed natural gas (more than 3,600 psi) and stored in a gaseous state in a container. It has the same composition as pipeline natural gas. CNG can be used as vehicle fuel.

2. CNG is more suitable for the current domestic situation, and the processing cost is relatively low. The pipeline gas is delivered to the gas station, after desulfurization, dehydration and other processes, it is pressurized to a pressure of more than 200 kilograms, and it is filled into the CNG vehicle through the gas dispenser. The decompression device is used for combustion in the engine after decompression.

3. The relatively high production cost of LNG has caused an increase in the price of gas to the user. Storage is also a problem. The gas is liquefied in an ultra-low temperature state (minus 165°C) and enters the engine combustion through vaporization. Although LNG cylinders are vacuum insulated, they will still evaporate and leak if they need to be stored for a long time, which is not as long as CNG. However, the storage pressure of LNG is low and the safety is better. After gasification, each cubic LNG is about 600 standard cubic meters.
